Best Finish of the Year

Well, I guess I can head into CX season on a good note because I managed to pull out a 4th place finish at the Gateway Cup University City Crit on Monday. My plan was to stay in sight of the front and just turn it on up the back stretch as if turn 3 was the finish line. I didn't know if this would work or if 20 other guys would do the same thing, but when I made the move I was suprised how quickly I moved up. I went from about 20th to 5th up the hill, passed 2 more around the broad 4th corner and was pipped at the line by a SLU guy to take the 3rd place medal from me. Not being at all a sprinter, I was very happy. A very fast finish - we hit the line at 38mph. Check the SRM data above.
